ABOUT

After a long drive with fascinating stops and corn reports I am back on the west coast taking in the cactus, succulents, and palm trees. The view, the mood, and the accents may be different—plus the weather is nauseatingly beautiful every day—but it cannot be helped that I’m inspired by all of it.

Some of my earliest memories are of making art. My father was an artist so my creative endeavors were always supported and encouraged. I am intrigued by the turn of a phrase or depth of a word, and moments of everyday life that are simple but full of interpretation. My art is a reflection of my past and present experiences with the living world, places and things. I intend that my analysis of the tossed and found will raise questions and offer a twist of humor.

I don’t limit myself to any particular medium, I choose what I feel best expresses my inspiration. I enjoy using graphite for its immediacy and expressive linear qualities. Paper, with its varied textures and surfaces, informs my work and enables me to show many layers which add poetic mystery.
